I would warn you against getting one of the original MPC boxings of old Star Wars kits. The old, original kits' plastic is often very brittle years later. I found some of my old built kits from the 70s still in boxes. Although they looked pristine, the pieces cracked when I tried to move them.

Ok, that's not good. Note to self, handle with care. I am not sure how old mine are, so I will have to be careful just in case.

Older MPC kits had a bone colored plastic. Newer ones are a more gray color because that's what AMT/Ertl used.

Ok, I am sure mine are grey, but I will check. I know the AT-AT is the Return of the Jedi boxing. The one I think I will be concerned about in darths TIE. I will have to have a look.

I had the original MPC 1977(?) issue Darth Vader Tie in my collection for many many years. It was molded in Gray. The plastic in that was rock solid. Unfortunately my building skills then were not and it was beyond salvage. I finally threw it away, along with many of my other sci fi salvage hopefuls, before my last move as part of my load lightening. But the plastic was not brittle at all. The X-wing was in an off white plastic and did not last nearly as long. Nor did Artoo...

Well then I am definitely relieved as the kits I didn't buy for $5 each at the swap meet were the same bone white kits I built in a Galaxy Far, Far Away...........

Hmmm, just picked up the DVD of 'Battle Beyond the Stars' and wondering did anyone ever do 'Nell' from this movie? Yes thanks Roger Corman and James Cameron for giving us a spacecraft with.. um.. 'boobs'...
