aircraft carrier resources
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 10:21 AM
Hi
I'm doing a 1/32 diorama of the F-14 on an aircraft carrier. I would need to scratch build a portion of the deck. Since it's 1/32, it would have to be extremely detailed. Anyone know where I can get some nice photos of the edges of the deck and the overall dimension and shape of aircraft carriers? It doesn't have to be a particular one, but it has to be one with the F-14. I need everything I can...photos, drawings, dimensions,...anything would help. Any books? websites? ANYTHING!

It may take you some time... and bandwidth. But the best source is "THE SOURCE". The navy site has many hi-res photos you can download and save. I have included a link to the aircraft carriers gallery. You should find all the reference you need. You might also contact a carrier itself (from it's website) and ask for specific photos you need. Worth a shot.
