Anchor Chains for ship models
Posted by Tankbuster on Tuesday, July 22, 2003 9:44 PM
Howdy all,

I have been searching in vain for anchor chains. Can any one help me or tell me where I might be able to find some. I am specifically looking for chains that would look appropriate on 1/350 scale ships.

Any help would be sincerely appreciated!

Thanks,
Bob Jackson

It might be a little expensive, but try a jewelry store. Get some length of cheap jewelers chain (such as watch safety chain) that looks appropriate in scale and style. I've even used old necklaces that have been broken, and they work out great.

I get my chain from Micro-Mark, www.micromark.com . They carry 2 sizes. Just right for 1/350 scale. And not expensive ($3.50 /order) they are item #'s 82696 & 82697.

Any model shop that carries HO railroading accessories generally carries HO scale chain. I use that; 22 links per inch.

I just got chain for my Trumpy Essex at:

www.modelexpo-online.com

Type "chain" in search and they have many types. 22 links per inch black is what I bought.
