Plastic Only, Sanding Dust and Chips
Posted by Tanker-Builder on Friday, May 13, 2022 4:53 PM

Hi Ya'll:

As some of you know I have mentioned a "Laker and Two Tugs" as a project for a friend. Well, I am generating a lot of sanding Dust, Crumbs and Chips from this job. Included is the finer dust from the Olympia Project! Well I changed my vac filter to catch it all and not have any dust or detritus from other uses.

What For? You wonder. Well, it's just another way of finding fodder for the "Sprue Gloo" I keep around in different thicknesses and colors. I tell you, I do believe, although it takes a little longer, I think my filled spots are easier to blend and the paint doesn't show sink Channels after priming!

The other thing is this, using a clean vac filter prevents the fine layer of dust that inevitably seems to blow out the exhaust end of the machine. Remove the filter Shake into a one gallon Zip-Loc brand bag, shake well, and insert into the glue bottles. Job Done.
