Mike Hoekstra
Grand Forks, North Dakota

Mike took a break from building autos to tackle Games Workshop's "Warhammer 40,000" Sentinel. After painting with Testors and Tamiya acrylics, he weathered with oil washes, colored pencils, pastels, and a craft-store antiquing kit. Heat from a lighter helped reposition the right foot; an airbrushed cotton swab replicated flame. Mike says the finished model -- which is about 3" tall -- contains exceptional detail.
