Using Airfix’s 1/48 scale F6, Ted modeled a Lightning being restored. The project went more slowly than he anticipated. “It took me eight months to complete,” he says. “I kept adding to the base as I thought up new subassemblies. All the ground equipment, ladders, and cones are scratchbuilt.” He airbrushed the scene with Tamiya paints. Ted says, “Submitted by one of your elder modelers, 79 years young and still loving the hobby and learning new ideas every time I receive my magazine.”
