James L. Martin

Chillicothe, Illinois

James built this 1/48 scale Lockheed U-2C spy plane from an AFV Club kit and finished it with Vallejo Air black acrylic and Model Master enamels. The pilot is a 1/48 scale resin SR-71 figure modified to fit. He built it to represent CIA Article 360 as flown by Francis Gary Powers on the fateful mission of May 1, 1960, when he was shot down over the Soviet Union. James found the aerial photograph on the display base from the internet and had it sized and printed by a local print shop.
