About Rhino

As I remember my first model was the Long John Dragster some time in the 1950s.  My story is typical with every dime went as a kid went on models or slot cars, Then came cars and girls so the models took a back seat.

In the early 1970s I started building models again mostly cars, then I got married and introduced my wife to the hobby.  She started building too and still does to this day with me 35 years later.  She brought home a Militay Modeler magazine one day from the store and the hobby became serious for us.  We both began building figures and armor.  Then came Shep Paine's book and we have never been the same.

In the mid 1980s I returned to school and got my Fine Arts degree and began doing free lance illustration.

Today we are still avid modelers her doing figure sculpting and myself painting and still building models.   I tend to favor armor and figures, but enjoy all forms of modelling and view it as an art form.

Looking back I have to say that these little plastic models have really been a major part of my life.
