About LedSled55

I worked a little in Tool Design out of High School working for a drafting firm, where we drew up all of the blue prints for the dies and punches that stamped out the fenders hoods and bumpers for the big three U.S. auto companies. After layoff. I decided to join the military. With my love in aviation, I decided to join the Air Force. I worked on everything from bullets to nukes, then cross trained to worked as a Flying Crew Chief on B-52 Bombers and worked on both G and H models. Still remember my tail numbers. After 8 years at Griffiss AFB in upstate New York. the base fell under base closure and I jumped ship and trained as a flying Crew on C-5 Cargo planes and worked on A, B and C models. the only 2 C models in the world. And I finished my last 6 years at Travis AFB in California, retiring out on the 1st of September 2001. Yep 10 days prior to 9-11. Job with North West Air Lines went up in smoke and The military unfortunately wouldn't let me back in. really wanted to go back in after that happened. It's been more than 20 years since I retired out of  the Military, and I still miss it to this day. While I was in, also stayed active in the base Aero Clubs, recieving my Pilots license as well as my A&P license. Loved working on them as much as flying them.

I am out on permanent disability now, with the 3 C's Cronic Pain, Crohn's desease and cancer. Wouldn't change anything though. Loved everything I did.
