Like many, I modeled when I was younger and got away from it when I "grew up". For years now I have been toying with the idea of getting back into it. A big reason I finally got back into the hobby (other than nostalgia and plain old fun) is growing up close to a US Air Force Base. As a kid and young adult, I remember seeing B-52s and KC-135s in the air seemingly daily. Also, being surrounded by missile silos, I'd often see the Minuteman transports on the roads. Very cool stuff! My intention is to make a replica of every type of aircraft (and nuclear missile) that was stationed there.
I'm also a history buff; mainly WWII. So I think my main modeling interests will be WWII and Cold War aircraft. At least for now. We'll see where the hobby takes me!
