Scratchbuilding a A7V in 1/160...
Posted by Brizio on Saturday, May 30, 2009 10:55 AM

Build tank is not mi things... But you know sometime is nice to take a break from cars and build somethings else...

For a WWI group building in another forum, I decide to build this tank, I don't know exactly why... But... :)

Here the chassis...

Interior...

The "armor"...:)

The interior, with 344 rivetts!!! And the seats...

After a loooooong break, I'm back on it...

Paint the engine.

The interior almost done...

And I also almost finished the armor...

Ideas and comments are welcome!!! :)

1/160 ?  wow

I built this kit from Turo years ago.  Made two, one with a full body kit, the second one was a cut-out to show the interior.  Since my modeling skills were just starting then, I used a 1/24 engine from a car kit (1920's coupe of some sort).

Would love to get my hands on the Turo kit again and try it with my better skills.

Looks good especially on the size of the project.

How did you do the tracks and roller units?

Most of my friends are imaginary

Sell your watch, because time is money $$

In Canada hwy speed is measured by number of moose tracks per hockey goal.

Sorry I post it in the wrong place!!! Can a moderator put it in the Scratchbuilding discussion area... Thanks!!!

Did you mean the Tauro kit in 1/35?

For the tracks I used a zip tie, and roller it was a coffe straw... :)

WOW!!!!

I'm sorrry I missed this the first time around! That's some incredible work!

You must have an Optivisor to see things that small?

Please don't move this to another forum--I'd love to see this finished here!

Now that's small.    But pretty darn incredible work in the scale.  Isn't 1/160 N scale?

@Wing_nut, yes 1/160 (N)

When I'll finish it, I think to put it in a little diorama. What do you think?

I have been sitting here for about 5 minutes to think of soemthing to say that would convey how absolutely amazing that is. And this form a guy that does not build armor!  Imagine if you were serious about this.

Thank you Wing_nut! I'm thinking to build some other armor, but probably in a "normal" scale. :)
