PANZERBAIT!

The image “http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys3/hand.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. Hey guys,

I’ve finally finished this project.

Just a bit of a preamble and The image “http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/spezial/roderick/popkorn.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. entertainment ........while the pictures load up.The image “http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys3/54_3.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Here's a little armored morsel ……
……….fit for a The image “http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys3/crossbones.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. Tiger.

I haven’t posted a build since January due to my erratic agenda. The image “http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/spezial/Fool/aaa.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.I only build in my spare time, a minute here, a minute or two there.

I had decided to do something rugged with wheels this time, so, since I already had the Tamiya M20 Armored car for several years, why not?

The image “http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys3/1338_xtra_2_2.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.I’m lookin’ forward to getting back to the tracked stuff though.

And yeah, I really did do something with “the wheels"...…. it’s just something that’s been eating at me for a while so I wanted to try it.

I went to work…

After toying around, this is what I came up with ………..
…….two kinds of chains here….. no glue involved.

The image “http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys3/cunao.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. Here I am putting my necklace on my tired carcass………….

Almost like armored jewelry there….  I even felt kind’a bad The image “http://www.countingcows.de/oooch.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. about painting it too.

There ain’t anything like the satisfaction of building your own stuff, especially when it comes out right.

The image “http://img99.exs.cx/img99/8577/yupi3ti.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. It just gets me bouncin’ in my seat…..I’m sure we’ve all had that feeling.

http://s20.photobucket.com/albums/b232/gluetank/th_6yuslki_th.gifYou’d be surprised how difficult it is to find an actual picture of one of these w/tire chains. I’m sure there’s probably some minor details that I got wrong on this build, but again, I really just wanted to see what I could do with those chains. They actually are flexible/functional and will come off if I want to remove them.

Well, here’s my latest, a non-specific faded ETO veteran in olive drab w/black soft edge camo and red primer w/worn bare metal showing.

Hmmmmmm......  Hopefully the pictures should be about loaded up now..........

Let's go The image “http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys3/allrun.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

The image “http://img116.exs.cx/img116/1912/t7xhappy.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. And so again, once more,
       “ ……….. a moment in time.”

I hope you enjoy my efforts.

The image “http://img9.exs.cx/img9/2705/assagi.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

The first picture is my favorite shot………  The image “http://smileys.sur-la-toile.com/repository/Grands_Smileys/photographe-3032.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.I personally think most of the pictures came out pretty fair.

The image “http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/11/11_9_10.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.I have this one displayed on my computer desktop.

Bringin’ up some supplies…..

Here’s a view of the radio, a scratch built first aid manual and radio handset w/cord. The bazooka is hiding under the canvas tarp.

And now a better view (incomplete) of what’s inside before I canned it up. Notice the stuffing coming out of the drivers seat, the minor cuts in the assistant driver’s seat and the scratched bench seat with the chipped/worn varnish finish. There’s a lot of The image “http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys3/animal_rooster_2.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.scratch here that isn’t showing.

And NO, The image “http://www.my-smileys.de/smileys3/20.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
I didn’t have a wreck when biffa returned!
Here’s a couple of pictures of the accumulated dirt, dried goop and suspension details.

I still intend to add some minor leaks and stains under there……..

The image “http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/spezial/jasons_smilie/curtain.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.Lookin’ for any feedback here, so, let’s have it………….The image “http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/sprachlos/speechless-smiley-037.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

I will try to answer to all who respond/inquire.

Outstanding work here. Is that the two-tone camo measure of OD and black under all that mud? Cool. Exactly what types of chains did you use for the tires? Top notch build...

Wow...Steve, that is probably the best model I have ever seen on this site. (maybe in general) I'm in awe... It's just perfect. I pray to the modelling gods that one day I may be able to build something of half this quality.

Simply outstanding, you've really outdone yourself.

Chris,

Gee, it's a shame you turned a real M20 on its side like that. Where's the model? I thought this was a "Scale" Model forum.....as in "miniatures".....

Steve, there is nothing I can add to describe how fantastic your build is that has not been said already. However,  I do hope the folks at Fine Scale have noticed it also. Looking at work like this can make a person see things they didn't think of, or notice, before .

Howdy Wirraway,

Thanks for the applause. I hope this encourages and inspires everyone. Patience is everything.

Right now AOL is giving me trouble and I'm at an alternate site (no smiley's, sorry) but, maybe, this evening things will be back in order.

Steve'o my man what a beauty there is so much to take in i had to look at it several times for new prospectives, the underside is perfectly textured and the chains just sell the whole thing for me they turned out wonderful, this is definatly the way i like to see them, well used and abused Smile [:)]  i also really like the ropes you used and how you used them, just an all round good looking model im sure after ive looked it over again more things will pop out at me heh. Awesome job.

DM, you've lived up to your name with this one. Lots of nice detail to draw the eye on both the interior and exterior. Thumbs Up [tup]

One small suggestion I would make is to consider replacing the stowage ropes with something more in-scale and in keeping with what it's securing. The twine you've chosen is more like ship-hawser thickness vs. a normal tie-down rope. Check your local Hobby Lobby or similar craft's store for something called crochet rope, I think you'll find that it's size and texture are a much better medium for replicating what you're looking for.
