I have an idea, why not just add a little description before the bio field (or all fields for that matter) of what most people would put, like age, nationality, favorite color(?), etc... that way you set newbie's paradigm to include age in the bio, no laws are broken and it's completely optional/voluntary. Opinions are being sought. There is no need to apologize.

Dave has a good point. I would hope many people wouldn't judge the value of a tip or suggestion based upon a person's age, but it could happen even without thinking about it.

Something like this wouldn't be displayed for every post, but would be found on the member's profile. I've been giving this more thought and due to the COPPA and privacy laws, I don't know if this is something we should be doing. Anyways, with the current members page you can add your age to the bio section if you wanted to.

Here's one for you Dave, why clutter up "Irrelevant threads" with irrelevant posts? If you don't like it , don't respond to it. Simple as that. Big Smile [:D]

I've been building models for many years and have seen a great number of 12yr olds do a way better job then I ever will. I'm 52 but my skill level is bearly a 2. I'm not hung up on age or eye colour for that matter. Why clutter up the posts with erlevent info. Sorry about the spelling.

Age isn't important DAVE. I wasn't suggesting that 16 year old new any less than an older modeler. You could be building your first model at 40!

For all that matters how about shoe size as well.
A good tip is just as good from a 16yr old as from a 61yr old.
I'd rather not know thanks anyway...

HEY,
You should Dave. It would be kinda cool. And if a few people dont want to do it, they can have that option.

I think there is a birthday field I could enable. It would be totally optional of course. If people were interested, I could look into making it available.

Adding our age

Any chance we can add our age in our post profile, perhaps next to the posts or under the location? Sorry if this has been discussed before.
