Selling kits
Posted by Gordon D. King on Monday, August 3, 2009 8:00 AM
Has FSM ever considered adding a spot on the forum where those of us who want to sell kits can list them? I am not really interested in e-bay but would like to appeal directly to fellow model builders.

alot of people would probably like something like that...may be a good way for fsm to make a little extra cash...ie take like a 5% fee or something. Smile [:)]

Thanks for the link Ed. I sent letters to several FSM advertisers whose ads state they buy collections. I wrote about the kits in my stash which I want to sell. I did not hear from any of them. That is why I posed the question. Many of my kits are old and most of them sealed, such as the original Aurora batplane.

Well, I read the original posts from 2007, and I'm still not convinced.  FSM needs to move with the times and respond to its subscribers, or IMHO, its headed the way of the dodo.  Its like comparing apples and oranges.  Commercial traders pay for advertising space.  Joe Blow who wants to move a kit or two should have access to a Buy sell trade section.  You cant say that one is taking business away from the other.  And Joe Blow is never going to buy ad space anyway, not for a small transaction.  We already have secret santa GB's, where members take each other on trust, sometimes from one side of the globe to another.  I dont hear anyone complaining they got ripped off by another forum member.
