Colors....?
Posted by bbrowniii on Thursday, December 10, 2009 12:00 PM

OK, can someone please explain what all the colors mean??  Sorry for the large screen copy, but it was the best I could do:

So, look down at the list of threads.  The first one is in grey, with the poster information in dark green...

Ditto for the next one.

The third thread 'Do you like the new forum' is still in grey, but now 'latest post' is in light green, and bgrigg is in dark.

In the fourth thread, the title is now in light green with the poster information all in grey...????

I also find that, depending where I go, and what I read, threads are not the same color.  So, when I link to a thread through my 'Friends Activity' and read it, if I then go into the forum, that thread will not have changed color, so I am left to guess if something has been added or if I read it already and it has not changed....

I'll admit it, I am COMPLETELY baffled by the color coding system in threads... completely (insert head banging against the wall smiley here...)

Seems to me that the color-change shows whether or not you've read that particular thread already... Then changes again if someone else has added a post since you last read it...

...and bgrigg is in dark...

Heh, my wife tells me that I'm usually in the dark. After spending most of my life in the red, I would like to be in the black for a change.

As for the color thing, I'm at a loss myself. I think the dark green is new posts, the grey are posts that have been read and have no new posts, and the olive green is I have no clue what olive green means! Maybe opened posts that haven't been read?

So long folks!

Hans,

That is what I thought (think?) but that pattern does not seem to work.  And why the different colors for thread titles, 'latest post' and poster??
