Just an indication of how active a member has been. Why do we do it? Just for the fun of it. It's a quick visual indication of how addicted to the forum is the author of the post you're about to read. Wink [;)]

Can someone tell me why we have rankings anyway? You mean somebody really cares how many stars they have, i can start posting now and have more stars than anybody later on. I think we need to lose them!

You are far too kind evaluating my work, Dwight. On the contrary, I am glad that low-resolution web photos mask the flaws!

But thank you kindly! Keep feedin' my ego!

Thought I heard my name mentioned around here. Ah right, Shrike did. Oh BTW, Modelnerd, don't worry, the rank does not specifically refer to skills or experienced (although guys like Sherm, DJ, J-hulk, and others have ranks equally proportional to their skills in modeling). It is just a gauge of how talkative one is in the forum (He-he-he). I was at that level about six months ago and I am about to shoot for my 2k posts. And of course this does not mean that I am very good or a pro. In fact I can even say that your work is far better than mine. I mean I also did some aircraft models but yours are very good and mine are ...well just models! (LOL).

So stick around and post. That's the only way to go if you want to change your rank. Besides, you could help us out more by posting more info on your methods.

Thanks.

Domo arigato, y'all. Yup- metal finishes have their challenges. I will be doing it again with my latest, the P-51 (see my website for the step-by-step (sorta) build). I am a masochist.

Hey mark, I'm a bit late, but congratulations on your 1000th post!! Didn't dwight do a Captian Insomnipost pic in the "Coming of the Darkside" thread? Hehehe... it should be Chris' sig! I think a few of us, like Courney and myself were spared from the chopping block... *Phew!*

ModelNerd: It's actually getting out of hand (in a good way), because people's sons, daughters, nieces, nephews and most especially wives are getting into the modeling act, so this forum is indeed a family website! Nice P-47 by the way! Natural metal finishes are always a challenge!
Blackadder: This plan's as cunning as a fox that used to be Professor of cunning at Oxford University but has now moved on and is working with the U.N at the high commission of cunning planning

I hear you, I'm labeled as aftermarket, I tend to build strait from the box. I've done some aftermarket but they still look like they are built by a novice. I do enjoy the build though which is all that counts in my book.
