A small easy change that would be great to the forum

If it is possible it would make reading this forum 1000% easier on the eyes if you could change the background color of the posts to the same color uses when we are posting in the private conversation section formely know as a PM. I would have to believe this would be a simple and zero cost change that would make a huge difference in the enjoyment and amount of time you could spend reading posts before your eyes bug out of your head due to the contrast. This is the one and only real problem I can say that keeps me from spending more time here. If you would please consider this small and simple change it would really go a long way in assuring me that FSM really does care about all of us that have been using this forum for many years.

Ditto Like when you go to post something and the previous post has the lightest blue background which is much easier on the eyes as mentioned. I mean really, anything that is going to save one our most valuable assets to our hobby would be a plus!

A whole week and not even a simple reply from the powers that be at FSM. I guess the lack of response speaks volumes about how much you really care about your subscribers. Is'nt that what this section of the forum is for? It really makes one think twice about renewing their subscription.

I'm afraid we don't have an easy adjustment available for this kind of thing. I understand your problem, though. I have the same difficulty with some word-processing software. It usually takes a few minutes to dial in, but I can usually adjust the contrast and brightness of the monitor to make things easier on my eyes.

Thank you for the relpy Matt. By responding I at least feal that an effort was made on your part. Believe me it makes a difference to me. If it is not something that can be easily changed than I guess there is nothing you can do on your end. I do'nt really care about al of the other changes that were made just the white background. It is comforting to know that you understand and agree with me that the white background is not the best choice. I guess we are both stuck with it. I am going to look into finding out if it is possible to change the settings on my own computor to deal with it. If I do I will post it here. Thanks agian for understanding.Smile

You can change how IE or Firefox display the colors of Web pages.  You can either use default Windows colors, or specify your own color choices.

For IE (version 8, other versions might be slightly different): Go to Internet Options...General Tab...Accessibility.  Check the box that says "Ignore colors specified on web pages".  Click OK.  Now click the Colors button.  If you want to use the default Windows settings, check the box that says "Use Windows Colors".  Otherwise leave it unchecked and select the colors you want for each item.

For Firefox:  Go to Tools...Options...Content.  Click the Colors button.  Un-check the "Allow pages to chose their own colors, instead of my selections above".  If you want Windows colors, check the "Use system colors" box, otherwise un-check it and select your colors.

Play around with it and see what works for you.

Thanks Paul for the good info. If the background color was light blue like most are it would be so much easier on the eyes. I'm going to play around with it later. Thanks agian.Smile
