Hi all ...

Glad to see ... hmmm I think that is the right word ... that things are back to normal ... and like someone else said ... whatever that is ... Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] ...

I didn't seem to have any trouble getting into the site ... I just had trouble getting out ... and yes, I know some of you wonder why one would ever want to get off the site ... but the wife gets upset if I don't show up for meals ... Wink [;)]

The site was done for me from saturday afternoon through this evening. I couldn't link in from another site and was starting to suffer from withdrawal symptoms. Dead [xx(] Luckily an unfinished kit was on the table to save me.

I'm very relieved that everything is back to normal. I agree that it would have been rough to make it through the weekend without the forum. I probably would have started to get paranoid that you all were excluding me!Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

ok

1. too late for that
2. yes, i followed it, your body does it automatically when you're passed out on the floor
3.as I was passed out, it was hard for me to do anything.

(I was lucky, I went skiing Saturday, and didn't have much time for models and forum anyways!)

If this ever happens again, it's important to follow these steps: (1) don't panic, (2) take steady, even breaths, and (3) take your mind off the crisis by doing something else--maybe even build some models.

I had same problems then noticed by accident that the link from Robert's Sherman Group build site got me in. Then Brian (J-Hulk) e-mailed me and asked if I was getting thru and I passed on how I got in.

But I did noticed at one time this weekend I was the only one on the site. How lonely that was!!!

The site was down for a good part of the weekend. Or more accurately, it appears that the non-Forum portion of the site was down. The two are more or less separate, which explains why people trying to get in through the home page were getting error messages and people accessing the forums via a direct URL were able to get in.

We had implemented significant system upgrades last Monday. You might have noticed some minor changes to the layout of some pages and the green navigation bar to the left, which we implemented as part of the upgrade.

Also, the upgrade resulted in changes to the URLs for some portions of the site; many URLs leading directly to specific articles within the site changed.

Of course, everything ran smoothly for the rest of the week until the weekend.....Our online tech folks have rebooted the site and are working on fixes to prevent this kind of crash in the future. We apologize for any distress this may have caused.

If you continue to notice problems with the home page or other pages within the site, drop me a line.

The bright side is that at least it happened on the weekend: Imagine trying to get through a day at work without periodic spirits-lifting visits to FineScale.com! [:0]

Man, have you guys seen the "attendance" at the forum index? sometimes it's just one or two people! This thing is really keeping people away...

Hmmm...I've had the same problems as ya'll. Got here this time via Robert's Sherman build page (thanks Tim and Robert!).
Funny, I tried the same strategy with Erock's 1/16 Tiger build page...but maybe that one links to the FSM main page, while Robert's links directly to the forums.

Hope it all gets figured out!

I remember last Wednesday a small announcement, hidden away in the announcement section, that this web site was going to be overhauled and speeded up. Then the rebuild was rescheduled for Thursday and that never happened. Maybe the overhaul was done on late Friday or early Saturday? I think the site is broken now.

I don't feel any faster.

... stinger

It depends ... seems like it does something different each time ... I just keep clicking back and forth until I get to where I want to go ... sometimes I have to "go all the way out" and "come back in" to get things to work right ... good luck ... I don't think this will last long ... but then I am far from being an expert .... Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Hmmm ... me thinks there is a fungus amongus .... Confused [%-)]

Gee ... and I thought it was my stupid computer that was acting up ... guess not ... when I try to log out .... I get that error message ... "We're sorry, but the page you requested contains an error or no longer exists"... If I go to the bottom of the page ... in the wee little print ... and click on "log in - log out" I can most always get around the ... "We're sorry, but the page you requested contains an error or no longer exists"... error ... but it sure is a pain in the butt ... SoapBox [soapbox]

I sure hope David "the 'net wizzard" can fix this for us ... Bow [bow] Big Smile [:D]
