For a droid all you have to do is go into your profile here on FSM, and in the default content editor just switch it to "plain text". Issue solved.

Might work for iphones too?

WOOHOO! Thanks dupes. That worked great. Just replied and used the quote from my phone. But now i'll never get off the forum

Thanks Marc! I'm leaning to the new Bionic, is that what you have Fermis? It has the sliding keyboard, which really makes typing easier I think.

Mine is a Sprint "Evo, shift". Decent enough.......has more crap on it than I'll ever need!

Does this problem exist with Droid phones?

I have a slide out keypad on mine (using right now), it seems to be the only way to reply (also has touch screen keypad). Using the touch screen.....hit "reply", "quote" if you like, then touch the big window where the writing appears......type away. Touch "post", close up the keypad and it'll post. For pics ??????? I dunno.

 You can also do "smileys".....ToastToastPropeller

Works OK from my iPad 2.  It may not be the "textbook solution"; but it works for me

Thanks for sharing!

Testing this copy/paste trick from my iPhone. Hate typing on this thing, but this could be awesome for quick replies. And it can type 229.

If you are having posting replies to the forums from any apple portable devices then this may be the answer.

1. Click reply to post.
2. If you cannot type in a reply then just close the page / browser.
3. Type out your reply in the notes feature of your device.
4. Select all - cut or copy ( that's your choice)
5. Press the home button twice on the device and a scrollable list of previous apps will appear.
6. Now this is why I did not say close fine scale just the browser. Tap in the reply box and a paste option should appear, simply click paste and then tap the usual reply button.

This has been typed on the following devices linked together

IPhone 3 gs
IPod (3rd. Gen)
IPad 2 / Wi-Fi and 3G

I hope this helps anybody with apple/ Mac portable devices.

Terry.
