Computer freezing up Part Dos
Posted by Jim Barton on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 5:48 PM

Ever since the revamping of this website, I've had off-and-on problems with my computer freezing up after about ten minutes of prowling through it and I keep having to start over. I posed this question a few months back but nobody ever gave me a reply or reason, and today, this website is being especially balky! If it's not fixed soon, I guess I'm just going to have to leave and go elsewhere for a modeling website because I'm tired of this. And it's just this website my computer has problems with; all the others I go on work fine and dandy, thank you!

Granted it's not the fastest place on the web, but it's running on quite common forum software & other than the general speed I cant say that I have any problems with it (it's up & running / available more often than some other forums I use...).

If you haven't done so already updating your browser & clearing your caches may help.

Ditto, Junkie..  Sounds like a user-end issue..

I've found forum websites sometimes hang.  Watching what's being accessed at the bottom of the screen (in FireFox), it usually hangs on some ad page, or sponsor.  I'll usually stop the load and hit the refresh button and things usually go from there.  I figure some advertisers try to make things too flashy and eye-catching, which can sometimes cause pages to not work well.  It's terribly annoying, but I usually get by with a stop and refresh.

Thanks, CrashTestDummy. Next time I'm on here, I'll have to try the "stop-and-refresh" trick and see if it works.

agreed, definitely your web browser has issues with some feature on this site.  You may want to try out a different browser too, I have IE9, Firefox, and Chrome on my computer.
