I Have A Complaint........
Posted by rdxpress on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 5:51 PM
I missed the Feb edition......I always buy off the rack, the only place that
sells Finescale modeler is, CRINGE, Books a Million. Went last week and
they had The MARCH issue. Whats up with this. Its like getting a 2004
car at the end of 2002!!!Why can't you send the new issue in the last week
of the prior month, not the first. Can I order a back issue?
Thanks,
G.W. aka rdxpress

The mass market retailers pull the old issues off the shelves as soon as the new ones show up, but I've seen several months' worth of recent issues on the rack in hobby shops, probably hoping for a sale to somebody in your present situation. You might want to call around. Otherwise, you can order a back issue from our customer service dept.

I've wondered about the cover date issue for years, too. I subscribe to about 10 magazines, and they all come out long before the cover month, some as much as 2+ months before. That just seems to be the way the industry works. Don't know why. Next time I see one of our circulation dept. people, I'll ask.

Lawrence,
Thanks for the answer, I tried(out of desparation) the only hobby shop
within driving distance but either they sent em back or sold out. They couldn't
tell me which.
I know in publishing there is a 2-3 month lead time but a March issue the
first week of Feb. is pushing it don't you think? I will probably order it. Thanks
for the answer,
Good Hunting,
G.W.

GuessI got lucky, I was able to pick up about 3 months worth that I missed from a shop in the next town over. I think they have them all the way back to oct of last year.

I guess I found the righ title in this thread. Yes, I have a complaint. The April issue will be coming out soon, it's even on the homepage of this website, but I still haven't recieved the March issue of my subscription. I would like to hear from the staff as soon as possible.Grumpy [|(]

Alex,

Sorry to hear about the trouble with you not having received the March issue. It was published on or about January 24 so you should certainly have seen it in your mailbox prior to now. Unfortunately once an issue leaves our printer we have precious little control about when it will reach the subscribers and this does happen on occasion.

If you haven't already done so, contact Kalmbach's Customer Service dept at 800-533-6644; explain the situation and they'll be happy to send a replacement copy.

Best regards,

Michael Ellis
