Corner on the Reader's Gallery

Dear Staff,

I have several attempts at having models displayed on the page indicated to no avail, it would appear that Tim Kidwell as a member of your esteemed staff has exclusive rights to the Gallery, and just why is that? Because your magazine as it was years ago and I did subscribe and contribute for quite some time, has outgrown paying attention to readers of the common-man category. I am deeply disappointed and as a former subscriber no longer purchase any type of printed or on-line articles. What became of the contributor-friendly atmosphere of the hobby's number one magazine?

Deeply regretful,

John Staehle

Not sure exactly what you mean by attempting to have models displayed. You do know that you have to send the pics in and then they are put up on the page, by Tim. All the pics there are from those who send them in, I had one myself in may.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Hi John,

I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding with how the gallery operates. First, let me assure you that FSM has always been and still is very open to displaying our readers' models. We enjoy seeing your work, and we publish what we can in the magazine and put the rest in our online gallery every month.

Second, not one of my models is in the online gallery. In fact, no staff member's model is in the online gallery--that honor is reserved for readers alone.

If you click on one of the thumbnail images in the online gallery, you'll see the name of the modeler, where he or she is from, and a short description of the model. Because of how the community software works, my name appears as the person who uploaded the image to the site. If one of the other staffers did it, their name would appear, and in fact did appear before I took over the task two years ago.

I'm sorry for the confusion, and I hope that you'll continue to read FSM, visit the website, and participate in the Forum. If you have any other questions, please feel free to call me at 262-796-8776 ext. 230, or send me an email.

Best,

Tim

Thank you for clarifying the issue, it was somewhat of a shock to see your name on all of the posts.
