Bad or Good? FSM chatroom
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, February 22, 2004 11:03 PM
just an idea.
what if finescale modeler magazine have a "chat" applet wherein modelers can log-in and have a real-time chat with other modelers, with moderators and operators to control the chat rooms?

There's a beta chatroom, but everytime I got in there, nobody is around... Disapprove [V]

You have to be part of the test team to get into the chat room. Wink [;)]

Yup.
Nobody's ever in there!
Is it still even in operation? I logged in about a month ago, chatted with the tumbleweeds for a minute, logged out...
I think it'd be a great thing if it was open to the community!

It'd be amazing if there were a chatroom, but one fully open to the entire community. However, I like the forum personally, and would still prefer it over a chatroom

I think it'd be great.. I think the beta doesn't work as well because there aren't enough peeps on it.

I think it's a good idea. Even though I haven't seen the beta chat anywhere. Some real time help for emegencies would be great. With the knowledge base in the forums, who knows? It might clean up a little of the clutter around the forums.

I kinda like the forum as it is now. But a chatroom would be a good idea.

However, it might lessen number the topics posted. As for me posts are very nice as it gives even newcomers a chance to view them even if they were posted long ago. When we talk in the chatroom, the information will not be as permanent as the that in posts.

Great idea! I'd venture to suggest a chat for every topic area; tools, aircraft, etc.!

good idea but with reservations. a standard time for chat, a password given to members of the community, and an eject button for those who need to be disciplined.

personally, i think the chat would be used more for casual model converstaion (and off-topic) and quick, urgent questions. rather than the deep subjects and questions Wink [;)]
