Star ratings?
Posted by jtilley on Monday, June 2, 2014 10:20 PM

I wonder if one of the moderators might explain the system of red and black stars that appear under members' screen names. I recall reading that the number of stars is related to the number of the member's posts, but beyond that I'm in the dark.

Also - at the bottom of some posts (not all of them) is a row of five outlined stars. I've noticed that when I click on one of them, it and the stars to the left of it turn gold. I'm an ignorant Olde Phogie when it comes to the practices in web forums, but I have the impression that I'm not the only one who does't know just what those stars mean.

Might it be appropriate to put such an explanation someplace where everybody can see it - or at least look it up easily?

Thanks.

This explains the number of posts http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/feedback_help_and_testing/f/39/p/149143/1592362.aspx#1592362

I'm not sure what the star rating at the bottom means though.

The stars at the bottom of the post, (if you notice, they only appear under the first post) are to rate the thread. Hoover you cursor over them and words appear ranging from poor to excellent.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I thought they had abandoned this after that one member (some time ago) would go through all the completed model posts and vote down people's posts. For some reason, this bothered people when their kit would be downgraded from 5 stars to 4 to 3, etc.
