Usually that job belongs to the admins and moderators, not to members.

move threads

I think that being able to move an entire thread from one section to another might be kinda useful,. I have noticed that sometimes a thread will move way off topic for the section it is originally posted in, the thread may be an interesting discussion or simply fun and may continue for awhile and really stray from the format of the topic subject. While the moderators do a great job of handling sensitive topics or flamewars sometimes they have to be the "bad guy" by shutting down a thread that has strayed. If that entire thread could be moved to a more appropriate section it then could be allowed to run without possibly luring someone in who might be looking for information but finds us old hands discussing the finer points of basket weaving. This place has a life of its own and for me is the go to site for info and electronic interaction, this suggestion is only my idea of a possible way to help keep this site the place to be for all who visit.
