I read with interest your FSM magazine editorial on surveys. Like all modelers, I have my own thoughts. Decide what you want to be -- there are auto, figure, armor, aircraft magazines-- it's ok to be a generalist magazine and cover many modeling genres. I enjoy modeling subjects whether a tank or ship if they teach me something I can try and apply. I'm not to into part c4 mates to d5 articles, but a different way to weather, create a good windshield, etc. I'm especially enjoying the short articles on figure painting with acrylics as I only use oils. Kit reviews and updates on new products-- good. Most of all I want to be inspired! The ship in heavy seas cover, the B-24 crashing cover, intricate shadowboxes, cutaway aircraft all inspire me to go for more realism. And coverage of shows, shows, shows-- that's where you see exceptional modeling in all genres.
