Is This Forum Awesome or What?

I think it will really promote the growth and development of the hobby. Better developped hobby means more interest, more newbie modelers taking interest and better industry to provide the products. Some plastic kit store employee told me these days are the last breat of plastic scale modeling because the new generation of kids prefers video games but I don't think it's true.

no argument about the site. but i do want to say that kids who are around models and model builders will be more apt to take up the hobby. (or should i say lifestyle) my four are subject to my whims when it comes to the hobby. and they are interested in building. as far as the new generation and video games it may be so but they will also pick up what they see around them.

I don't know, mate.
I've been making models for 35 years. I've also been playing video games for nearly as long. I don't think that an electronic toy will ever replace the joy of finising a good model, or the pride in hearing someone tell you how great it looks.

Cheers, LeeTree

When i was a kid the only video game I had was chasing flies across the TV screen and had to glue rocks together because models weren't invented yet and had to walk 10 miles to school uphill (both ways) and Woof! Too many glue fumes.

don't let them get to you, comrade. i truly believe we are in a golden age. however, it'll only last as long as we can stimulate interest in the rest of the world. i've got my son hooked and he has the ps2 as well ( medal of honor and armor kits seem to go together for him) keep the faith and keep spreading the word.
