How to ACTUALLY a download DLC
Posted by Justinryan215 on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 2:37 PM

The first few, when you tap on the 'Download Now' button in the email, would automatically open a browser and download the issue.  This month, it takes me to the 'Extras' tab, and when I click "already a subscriber", it only takes me to my subscrober information, but there is no actual button to tap to download the issue....how do I see the meager data that I have paid for?

If you click on download now and scroll down a bit there should be a link to a PDF

https://finescale.com/~/media/files/pdf/finescale-modeler-dlc/2022/01-february/fsmfeb22dlc.pdf

Thanks,

John

Thanks for that link!  No matter what I did, I never got an actual link to download like I have in the past....

Trying to get the April DLC issue. I am logged in. As has been the case for every previous issue, there is no "Download Now" button and no PDF link. Neither the 11-digit account number listed in my subscription info nor the 12-digit account number on my mailing label can be found when I enter my access code.

Do you guys test this with Chrome? I am using the latest update of Chrome on Windows 10.

 Thanks for your help. TomZ

I struggled with this as well but finally got an answer.  Upper right corner on page 2 of your magazine has an online access code you need to enter.

Thanks,

John

THANK YOU, keavdog! I had already tried using that code, but that little flag covered part of it up and I misread a 3 as a 2 and so of course it didn't work. After fooling about I now know how to get rid of the flag.  But I have it now.

Thanks again for your help.

It's odd, but I don't have to enter any code.  I just have to be logged in to the forum.

I click the Click Here link in the email.  That takes me to the forum page for the specific download, though I'm not logged in.  Once I log in to the forum, then the page reveals a link to download the .pdf:

That code you guys are talking about sounds like it provides access to a subscriber, but if you ever access the DLC page and don't see the file link, scroll up and see if you're logged in or not.  Click to log in, and see if the link is now revealed.  I bet it will be.

Latest issue of the mag says DLC is going away.

Thanks,

Yeah, and a reply in this thread:

https://cs.finescale.com/fsm/feedback_help_and_testing/f/10/p/192749/2221619.aspx#2221619

Tim confirmed that it's already gone; the April 2023 issue was the last one.
