FineScale.com T-shirts?
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, May 21, 2004 4:40 PM
Just an informal straw poll, a slight variation on a poll that forum member Fightnjoe has been running in the Off-Topic forum.

I'm not saying we're planning to do FSM T-shirts, but the response to Joe's poll was so strong, we're curious about the interest level in a larger sample group. I also needed something to replace the May issue poll on the home page until we get the July issue posted......Wink [;)]

If you responded to Joe's poll, you don't need to respond again. Feel free to make comments.

Hey Lawrence,

I know you said we didn't "have to" vote if we had voted in the other poll, but what the heck. Big Smile [:D]

Would I buy a T-shirt? 50-50 chance, but I voted yes.
Would I buy a collered shirt (polo/gulf style)? Near certainty.

I'm getting a bit old, or just fuddy-duddy, for T-shirts. Big Smile [:D]

I think it would be a great idea, especialy if offered it in different versions ( Polo, golfstyle, T-shirt, etc. )
I would buy atleast one.
It would be great if we could get our member name on it, but I know that can be a bit too much to ask for.

Why not? How about a 10% discount to every 'new' subscriber of FSM who purchases a shirt? Just a thought!

If they offered a polo shirt with embroidered Lettering I would definitely buy one.
Remember it's "FineScale" not scale modeling! The publication is about the best in class and is worthy of quality wear, not a tee shirt that you would use to work on your automobile.

I've been for this from the start! I think it's a great idea. One thing we discussed in the original thread was that most of us would be willing to pay a little more for our shirts to cover the extra cost to mail to overseas. We don't want someone to be left out because it costs too much for shipping.

Thanks, Lawrence!

to those who have responded and voted, thankyou. this has become an obsession for me in a way. i am very pleased with the number of responses. and the number of those who responed is about what i expected. very similar to the number of those who joined versus those who post regularly. next question would be is this enough? only fsm can answer that.

I need mine in a 3 or 4X, I'm a bit on the large side (6' 6" and 375 lbs) and I like my clothes loose. And please anything but white or pink.

I, too, would prefer a polo style shirt. But, a tee would be nice to wear while at the work bench. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Black Eye [B)]........um......would it be unethical to vote more than once ?........or twice ????me would really really like to see this topic stay alive and sorta underwhelm FSM..............so that they'd get the hint that a T-shirt (or polo shirt) would definitely be in the near future........
c'mon youse guys........Big Smile [:D]

Would it be either unethical or illegal to get the paper for my printer to do iron on decals and make my own FSM t-shirt?

What, no order form yet? IF you do decide to do the shirt thing, heres a few suggestions. Do a tee-shirt, with pocket is prefered. Tee shirts would cost less in the long run which means a higher profit margin. Have your basic colour group, ie black, white, red, blue, green, yellow and grey. Have a silhouette of the basic forum type, ie plane, tank, ship etc. (you can have the guys vote for their favorite). Have ONE silhouette for each colour, you won't be able to please every one, so save the aggravation and don't. PLEASE list ordering directions on the forums before putting it in the magazine. Us loyal fans do deserve some recognition. Heres my final suggestion, put the silhouette on the back of the shirt with www. finescale.com underneath it and the FSM logo on the front. This is just a few random brain farts I had about the subject and they could probably stand some fine tuning.

Ler me clarify one thing here, I meant have one type of silhouette available in the chosen colours.
