I have an excellent Canon and it's capabilities are way beyond my abilities. I have a macro lens that is excellent for this kind of work but lighting is a mystery

Thank you very much for the shared credit Derek.. I think this would be a great article that could really help a lot of us who are dumber than sticks when it comes to taking pictures. I for one include myself in this catagory and if it wasn't for a lot of hours of research I wouldn't have gotten pics near as good (or maybe I was just lucky) as I did.
Something to really consider.

How about a booklet on how to photograph models? It could cover some of the basics like lighting, backdrops and lens type. Include info for digital and SLR types. Could even be in .pdf format and placed in the Scale Modeling Guides section.
