FSM Subscription - woe is me!
Posted by crockett on Wednesday, June 9, 2004 12:18 PM
Imagine my dilemma - anxiously awaiting my new issue of FSM to be delivered to my door and....I'm shopping in my local (unamed) superstore and BOOM! there is the latest issue on the shelf! Yep you guessed it, I bought it and paid $4.95 retail plus tax!, six days later my subscription copy arrived at the house.

I know I should have been more patient, but, I needed my fix!

Now, the problem is, I know these issues will be hitting the newstand before the good ol' US Mail can get it to me, so I'm bound to repeat the scenario. Any of you FSM guys have a solution?

Yep, learn to be patient! Big Smile [:D]
Seriously though, why spend money on something you've already spent money on? Think, you could get paint, or glue, or some other little modeling toy instead. Then you can satisfy your fix, and still get the mag.

I'll second that "learn to be patient" suggestion. It's good advice to practice against your modelling. Smile [:)]

You gotta be patient! I mean if you have a subscription you already have forked over a fortune for it. Don't buy another unless you have a friend that you would like to get into the hobby. Then pass it on to him/her

Steve.........you fool!
But seriously, I've been there too......it's frustrating to think the darned things don't hit your mailbox FIRST!!! After all, the ones in the store are for those folks who DON'T have a subscription!!! Joe had the right idea though- just stand there in the store and peruse to your hearts content - then go home and wait!
Patience is a virtue.
But as one vulture said to the other, "Screw patience!! I'm gonna go kill something!!"

Cheers, LeeTree

Don't subscribe. I don't subscribe to any magazines anymore because no matter how good they are usually 1 or 2 issues a year don't interest me. Plus I get to participate in a little "spontaeneous consumption" at the newstand. Although I'm sure Kalmbach loves to tout those subscription figures.

Here in the Philippines, I usually ask our local bookstore if they have past issues, say for the past 4 to 6 months, and buy it in a bargain price.

It's tempting for sure Steve and frustrating. I hate to see an issue in the store before I receive mine. I feel the subscribers should get their issue first, after all we are the constant supporters of the magazine. Correct? I vented before on that issue.
