FSM Cover price?
Posted by MikeV on Saturday, April 19, 2003 6:10 PM
Has FSM Magazine's cover price increased with the current issue?

My son stopped by the bookstore earlier to get me the new copy and he said it was $5.95 now instead of $4.95. Did it go up?

Needless to say I didn't get it because he didn't have enough money with him. Big Smile [:D]

Thanks

Mike

I found my copy of the May issue and your son is right, it is $5.95. I have no idea if it's a permanent increase or if it was only for the May issue.

I think it was only for the May issue, as it has extra pages. They usually have 1 or 2 of them a year.

Not a permanent price increase; midnightprowler is correct, the extra buck is because this is a jumbo issue with an extra 30 pages. We normally do one extra-large issue a year (so it's factored into the annual subscription price), though this year it looks like there will be two (#2 will probably be November) to make up for the longer-than-usual gap since the jumbo 20th anniversary issue in Jan. 2002. We don't get many more ads than usual, so the 30 extra pages are almost entirely editorial content - and it feels like doing two issues at once!

Thanks everyone.

I went back and picked it up last night. Big Smile [:D]

One suggestion though Lawrence:

Why don't you have the "special price" subscription rate on your web site so that we can subscribe online without having to mail in the little cards from the magazine? Question [?]

The online subscription price is substantially higher than the one in the magazine.

Thanks for explaining, I was curious about the price increase myself. I think the extra pages were worth it. Although I was hoping it wasn't permanent. Big Smile [:D]

And a belated...

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!
