Hi all - just wanted to suggest something I've found useful in other forums:
As you all have probably noticed, there are many repeat questions out there (explain dry brushing, best airbrush to get, etc.). I've also seen excellent posts in response to these querys. My suggestions is to have a moderator snip these responses and create a "best of" FAQ for each major topic we tend to discuss. Each forum sub-area can have it's own FAQ. You can add to each FAQ as they are improved.
Some web forum software allows you to "tack" these threads so they always remain at the top of the forum area. If they are BOLD and given some other highlight, they usually stand out If they have FAQ in the threads title, then people tend to look there first. (I think I see you can make posts "sticky" here :-) )
Also, once the FAQ post is generated, it's a good idea to "lock" it so you don't get add'l posts in there. It's best to keep the FAQ posts clean.
I'm not sure if your forum software will allow you to tack FAQ posts in this way, but if you can, it would be a great resource to those who use it!
Thanks for listening :-)
