I am---uhhh--guilty as charged.
I have cross-posted (some time ago), but I did it thinking that the thread belonged in more than one topic area. Sorry.

In my case, I broke the rule because of ignorance; I never read them all, or I don't remember reading it; however, I'm still at fault. Again, I'm sorry if I offended someone.
Model Museum, I believe that if the rules regarding forums are fair and just, most people won't mind following them. I tend to believe that a great many of those who break the rules are doing so primarily out of ignorance. Yes, there are the bubble-brains (like me), or the wing nuts (like me), or the profound butt-heads (like me) who may on occasion foul up on purpose. But I think they are in the minority.
If netiquette, including cross-posting, is such an important issue, then the powers-that-be at FSM should program the forum in such a way that every newbie who signs up for the first time be directed via a default to a netiquette/rules screen. After reading, an electronic signature could be obtained through an "I agree" button. Then, if offense occurs, FSM can do what it will: from warning to forum banishment--or anything in between...
Maybe I should be banished....
