Using Firefox also, with the optional Adblock installed. No popup issues, on the other hand most Micro$oft sites get really cranky unless I go back and use IE.

If you are still using IE, get rid of it NOW. Big Smile [:D]
Most decent browsers will allow you to suppres popups and other nasties.

Same here as far as no pop-ups. I use Slimbrowser, and love it, very cusomizeable and does a great job with pop-ups. Tabed browsing is also another benifit, 6 sites open at once, like now. I think Slimbrowser is IE based but I haven't had any problems since I switched. So many good browsers out there besides IE, who wouldn' t want more security, more flexibility, and multi-tasking capabilities? Look around for somthing else.

I get the popup at work here and there. It doesn't occur all the time, but even once seems stupid. With the rest of the adds plastered around the page, why go through the annoyance of having another window, when that one add can just go on the main page. I mean, they're hawking their own wares, so why the separate window. I've never been quite able to understand that path of thinking.

First of all- download Mozilla Firefox avaiable from :
http://www.mozilla.org/
It's a lot more sucure and it has a great built-in pop-up blocker. I haven't seen a popup since I downloaded it.

But, I agree about the pop-ups. I would like to see them go.

The subscribe pop-up is the main reason why I avoid the homepage. I already subscribe and anyone who thinks those pop-up ads are a good idea needs to be flogged.

I use firefox - no popups anywhere. Before that when I was using IE, I used the popup blocker from my ISP (earthlink), so I haven't had any popup worries for quite some time.

Actually, the FSM site is about the only one that I have a problem with a pop-up coming up all the time. I don't know why I can't block it.

I haven't had a pop-up on FSM (or any other site for that matter) for over a year. I really like my Yahoo pop-up blocker.

finescale.com's pop-ups

Ok, flame me if you want, but is anybody else really tired of the pop-ups that occur every time you get to finescale.com? I don't really need to see the ad for the Diorama Annual several times a day when I log on. Can't it just be located on the side column of the homepage like the rest of the ads?
