I don't really see the point of an individual build forum. The regular forums serve that purpose just fine.
As for the group builds, I've kind of had enough. They're popping up left, right, and center. I think we ALL, as a community, should take a firm stance and educate those not familiar with some basic forms of etiquette of this forum. A group of 1 is not a group. Heck, even a group of 5 probably isn't enough to warrant a GB thread. Personally, I've been involved in some GB's lately that I really wish I hadn't been. There is practically no activity, and the starter shows up MAYBE once a month. It's just a waste of time and resources.

I am a poor modeler .
I can't afford no badges.
I just like to read what you are building and interject now and again.

I know it's only rock and roll, but I like it.

I am sorry guys if I'm starting one with only one other person in it. I am hoping more will join it and I would like to see it become an annual thing. I wanted to start my own because every time I look through the group build posts, it's never what I'm working on! I can't afford to buy what the people are building usually. If you guys want, I can ignore the group build, and just post my results later.

OK, I see what you're saying, and agree completely. I thought you meant we needed a bona fide "individual build" forum, like I've seen on some other sites. I'm not a supporter of that idea, as I believe that's the role of the topic forum itself. GBs are special.

Sure, GBs need to be set up and run responsibly, and above all, must actually be a group!

I must have missed the one you're talking about. Since I've never been able to commit to group builds, I rarely read those posts! Big Smile [:D]

Sounds like someone is 'trophy hunting', or in this case 'group build badge' hunting. I want an award or build badge for every kit I've put together too. Beginning to sound like T-ball where everyone wins.

Don't get me started, Jeff.

Did you see my editorial over on the other site?

As a simple rule though, a "group" is more than one person...unless it's the guy I saw at the Barnhill's Buffet last week. HE was a group by himself.

I'm trying to keep an eye on 1-person 'group builds' and labelling them as such...perhaps its tim e we collectively (as a community) set some guidelines for what constitutes a group build...input?

Hmmm...then, what exactly would be in the "regular forums?" I thought they were for "individual builds."
