What is your favorite forum here at FineScale.com?

Looking at the Forum Index it's clear the Aircraft forum is dominating in regards to the greatest number of topics and replies. However, forget about the numbers and let's discuss personal favorites. Which of the following forums do you enjoy reading the most?

David,

That's really tough to answer. I've learned alot from all of the forums in one way or another. Granted, I'm one of the diehard "Airheads," but I can honestly say that I enjoy and appreciate all of the forums.

All in all, though, I think I enjoy the GMD Forum the most. It's really the only area where anything and everything can be discussed freely, so you never really know what you get with a given topic. In addition, the humor in some of the responses defies belief. It's almost like MST3K for modellers...

David,

I agree with demono69 except that while I do read the aircraft section. My toss-up was between GMD and Ships. And I went for GMD.

But I LOVE this web site. I must check it every day I can get to my computer. Keep it up.

Aircraft is #1 for myself followed closely by the General Modeling Discussion. The wide range of subjects and mostly friendly "debates" keeps me coming back to the GMD.

Since my computer access, excess?, is at work, one day I'll probably get fired for being here too much. I go for a/c because of my interests, but I like to come here also. As stated, you can learn so much from all the forums. They are all interesting.

It was also a toss-up for me, Armor or GMD. I chose Armor only because that's the one I always check first.

I don't know if you worded that question deliberately or not, but definitely the forum I enjoy reading the most is General Modeling Discussion. Hands down! I usually check out the Auto forum first because that's what I build most and I have learned a ton of stuff from all of the forums but as far as enjoyment goes...GMD all the way!

GMD is the one I'll normaly check up first, unless I'm 'awaiting' a reply somewhere else. It's the great fun forum. Next is aircraft or armor depending on the day, then I take the time to go through cars, dioramas, SF, ships, space, the technique ones them the introduction one. Does not mean I'll open up a topic, just checking whether interesting ones are live, but sometimes checking further down to see who did not get any answer, just to make sure there nothing I can do to help.

My wife is already shaking her head at the amount of time I'm spending in the forum. I love the armor forum, but GMD is my favorite by far and touches all modelers of different forums that can share at times common techiques etc. with one another. This website is my version of a night out with the boys. Thanks FSM!

Another vote for GMD. I'm a do-or-die aircraft modeler, but I like the diversity I get here at GMD forum. It's more like the local club meetings I used to go to.

Well I voted for GMD as my favorite, but I also spend a lot of time in Aircraft, Armor and Techniques. That's my main interests and I love to see if someone will post a tip that I've not thought of or heard of before. I like the discussions in the GMD best though. It can be entertaining.

Cast another vote for the GMD forum.

If the subject doesn't fit precisely into one of the other forums, anything fits in the GMD. I don't think my thread about wanting more diversity in kit subject matter from major manufacturers would have taken on the life that it did or gone the distance (10 pages) that it did without the presence of a generalized discussion section.

I'd follow that up closely with the aircraft forum then the techniques forum. Its always interesting to see how resourceful we modelers can get when it comes to creative problem solving in getting a kit together.

GMD for me too, and here's something to ponder. We are all over the world, of a wide age and background range yet we all feel pretty much the same about the state of the world, and what we want out of it (witness Dave Voss' latest topic in GMD).
Is it something in the glue?
Someone once said that modelling is a singular hobby, but the forum gives the lie to that I think.

The GMD is a very useful forum for those looking to learn from others experience, but I get the most out of the A/C forum. My experimental fighter thread has opened a lot of interesting email exchanges. My modeling skill most definitely could use practice, but historical information is my real need.Wink [;)]
