David ...

I have been thinking that very same thing for about 45 minutes now ... no one wants to be the 9999 (or 9996) member ... they are holding out for the big 10,000 ... thinking there might be bells and whisles and streamers ... <grin>.

A little while ago ... your server was offline ... or perhaps it was my ISP ... not sure ... but all I was getting was the dreaded "blue" message that the web site was not responding ... busy or broken ... my wife said ... "David did turn the lights off and go home" ....
This is fun ... but I guess I will turn in now and check again in the morning

Steve

ps: ... enjoy those warm Krispy Kremes in the morning .. Evil [}:)]

You experienced the same thing too? It was kind of weird. There are two other servers on the same network that I couldn't reach other. Whatever it was, everything seems okay now.

And yes, I did go home, but I left the power on. Wink [;)]

I feel like I've missed the party Sad [:(] Here I am wondering where's all the 'chatter' on the CBP and it's over here at the 10,000 member discussion. And now, the party is over and I'm just showing up at the door... Oh well, someone's got to clean up after you guys...

Guess I should check-in a little more often!!

No KrispeKreme (or however its spelt) in my area, but I have had a little of the Kringle down in the Racine area. Good stuff.

Congrats on a successful forum and website!! Well run and well attended.

Any bets on when we will break 15,000? At the rate we are gaining members I would say sometime early next month.

Hey guys & gals ...

This forum is just getting bigger and better ... wonder if things will sort of slow down ... in the summer ... you know ... the season some think is the "off season" for scale modeling ... shoot ... sometimes I get more quality building done during the "hot" months than I do during the "cold" months ... anyway ... come to think of it ... when we are having our warm months here in the northern hemisphere ... our friends in the southern hemisphere are having their winter ... I guess it all evens out somehow doesn't it???

Say, 15,000 members isn't far off is it???

Yep, it keeps getting bigger and bigger! One thing I've noticed though is that the number of post is catching up on the number of members. I recall a time when we had twice as many members as messages. Since we are still getting new members at a rapid rate, it must mean that more people are posting more messages... It must show that people here are getting more and more confident with the Forums and its other members. Another proof that this is the 'right' place, with the 'right' people!

Well ... I hadn't looked at the fiqures in quite that way ... but, by golly you are right ... and I think your theory based on analysis of the numbers is also correct ... more comfort ... more postings.

Cool [8D]

Did anyone notice that on 4/2/03 at 11:46 there were 66 people on the forum? That's a lot of people. I always seem to miss those busy times. I'm going to have to tell my boss that my job is interfering with my hobby.

The growth in forum membership is absolutely astonishing. I think it's great. In reading FSM editorials I know that they're very (pleasantly) surprised by it also.
I'm betting that Dave Voss is going to have to do a MAJOR server upgrade soon!!

Well, even if the number of member's growth rate seems to be going down a little, we are now only 360 people short of 15,000 members..! It can only be a few (5-6?) days away... Cool [8D]

What ever happened to Dunkin Donuts? Have we all forgotten that it's "Time to make the donuts?"

There's just no joy in tradition...
