More Armor please!
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, August 15, 2005 12:47 PM
Do you think you add a little more articles on armor and Dios because I have not seen armor on the cover since December or many reviews of armor kits.
Could youy please find different topics on armor not just rehashed articles. Thanks in Advance,

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. The armor guys have been asking for more armor for a long time, but always they're fairly basic articles and fairly limited in their scope, unless you're a beginner. If you're looking for good armor builds, I suggest that you look elsewhere, such as AFV Modeller (one of the best IMHO) and TMMI. Both feature fairly prominent modelers, and each issue will show you at least something new.

Going along with dday's original post...he mentioned dioramas. I think a few articles on building dioramas and simple display bases would be a neat idea. Haven't seen anything on that in the magazine recently. How-to's on groundwork, turf, bushes, trees, scale fences, signs, and simple scratchbuilt buildings and debris would make for some good reading! It's enjoyable to see the finished products of some of the featured master modelers (i.e. 1/16th all-metal Corsair), but give us some practical articles that can give the average Joe something to accomplish!

There seems to be a decent number of armor articles in FSM, considering how many different topics are included in modeling.

What I've always found to be a little odd is how many ship-model articles there are in FSM. I love ship models, but most people build aircraft, military (armor and other land systems), and cars. Ships are a pretty small niche in the hobby.
