Oooooo! Diecast--that's a touchy subject down the hall with our sister publication
Scale Auto. A lot of die-hard plastic auto modelers did not take kindly to SA's acts of friendliness toward diecast. Clearly, some of them perceive diecast as the cause of the plastic auto modeling industry's decline. (Or could be other causes, and diecast has simply filled the vacuum?) Maybe there's an innate conflict between "collecting" and "constructing" hobbies, though a lot of us have collected more unbuilt kits in our closet than we have models on our display shelves.
I don't know.....
Still, I'm not opposed per se to adding a Diecast forum to our auto section if there's enough interest. (There have been a few aircraft diecast offerings, but so far it's been mostly cars.) What would we talk about in a diecast forum? I mean, you can't really swap building stories and construction tips.
