I strongly agree! Smile [:)]

I bought the magazine for Part II of Mike Ashley's Pennsylvania conversion, and for the bench review of the Vindicator kit, but I really enjoyed the Columbine II conversion.
Now I'm looking forward to a feature build of the SB2U in a future issue.
Thanks!

I'm just picking up modeling again after a twenty year break, life has a tendency to get in the way sometimes. My son is in the Navy ROTC at school so I seem to be finding myself into the modern Navy ship model building mode, and of course it has nothing to do with him getting extra credit in class now, nah. Anyway, I really enjoyed Mike Ashey's article on the USS Pennsylvania conversion. I see there have been some changes in modeling over the last twenty years. Boy do I have a lot to learn. Wish me luck. I hope these 52 year old eyes and hands are up to it. Thanks for a great Magizine. Keep up the good work. Dave

It was a tie for me: the Pennsylvania conversion and the Japanese rocket fighter.

Overall great issue!

As I have recently finished a translation of a book on the Shusui, Aurelio Gimeno Ruiz's Shusui rocket fighter article really caught my attention and interest.

I love every feature article by Mike Ashey. His rock solid approach to ship building just floors me. The USS Pennsylvania conversion article is no different.
I only wish every issue could offer the amount of "meat" that the annual jumbo issue gives us. Good work on this issue, kids! Keep 'em comin'!

I always enjoy reading FSM, but usually look to my other magazines when it comes to AFV's. This issue surprissed me having an article more along the lines of what I find in my other magazines on armor. I agree with the post about going a little further in depth on armor articles and scratchbuilding. I believe in the concept that subject matter is not important in skill building, however, subject keeps interest. I think that continuing to improve upon the quantity and quality of armor articles, while not sacrificing ac, will eventually lead to a better all around magazine while increasing reader base. I continue to subscribe and read FSM because I love the magazine and seeing into the world of modelling as a whole. But, I can remember when I was a kid and never quite willing to spend the money on subscribing because I never really saw any real armor articles and did not want to spend my limited funds on ac favored material when all I wanted was armor, armor, armor.

I say keep up the good work. Your magazine has come a lot further in the last couple of years. I really have enjoyed these changes and continue to look forward to more improvements.

I liked Mr. Ashey's Pennsylvania article. I'm pleased that FSM's coverage of ship models seems to have been getting better lately - in terms of both quantity and sophistication. Us ship modelers may be in the minority, but a glance at the ship section of the forum establishes that there are quite a few of us. More, please.

Youth, talent, hard work, and enthusiasm are no match for old age and treachery.

Very good issue all-around, BUT... With that many pages available, I would like to have seen something, well, oddball. I'm thinking something like the R2D2 buildup, or a behind-the-scenes look at a recent movie model build. What do you think?

I liked the migmaster thing and the panzer article, but the metal tracks of the panzer article won my heart for this issue Big Smile [:D]

I have to speak up in praise of the Corvette article. I'm normally an armor modeler, but I have a nephew who builds car models. I was inspired by this article to see if he wants to do a joint project, as I think it would be a nice step up from his current work without being too advanced.

Any time an article inspires you to actually go out and build the model I have to rate it a success.

I liked the F-16 Colors and Camouflage. It was nice to see somerthing other than the standard colors.

Back dating the F-8C was a good one but he didn't go far enough. The landing gear was for the remanufactured F-8K. It wasn't found on the F-8C. I know this is nit picking but if someone goes to the trouble of back dating they should also do the one thing that makes it easy to tell if that model of the F-8 has been remanufactured. My 2 cents [2c]

Now I will step down from my SoapBox [soapbox]

Any thing that has to do with our war heros is a hit with me and General Eisenhower is right at the top. Now how about general Yeager. His P51 would be a great build. I know it's probobly been done a dozen times BUT not that i've seen.

I was quite disappointed with this issue. Given the issues raised elsewhere online regarding the new M551, the glib review in the magazine seemd lacking. Further, the galllery featured at least two very weak builds. I'm sure the editors have access to far more great models that they don't have to publish third rate efforts. People look to this to be inspired and to see the best, not the rest.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

I've been critical of past issues, but I really liked this one. I have complained about the superficial nature of so many of the previous articles, but this issue seemed to have more in-depth content. We even got a multi-part article, which is just fine with me. I think November was a departure from a frightening trend. When FSM goes the way of chick magazines like Vogue and Cosmo, and caters to the lowest common denominator airhead by just filling the magazine with fluff and very little intelligent content, I'll leave. Like another reader, THE REVIEWS ARE MY FAVORITE! Why are they not listed in the poll?

Loved the panther, the T-55, and the M3, but there was really not nearly enough detail there. When you take a look at the depth of descriptions for AC conversions and builds, they are just much more informative than then armour stuff.

I liked the article on building the panther. Of course my favorite part was the kit reviews, but that's not included in the poll...

I, really enjoy the article on Mike ashey's USS PENNSYLVANIA, last month and this month. I wish that there was more article's on 1/350 scale ships, mostly battleships. Are there any back issues od FSM that has say 1/350 scale Prince of whales, or the King George, or the Yamato, or the Musashi. Bismark. Thank you and please keep as many 1/350 scale battleships or any 1/350 scale world war II ships comeing as you can. I do love the article's, you'all do A great job. Lonnie.

Though it was brief and in the Classic Kit column, I'm glad an article on a figure was included.
