I really like the idea of the Private Messages. It's a great way to get
a message to a forum participant without doing it publicly. They are
also a good way of taking an online argument offline, not that there's
any of
that going on here!
Some of the other forums that I haunt also have private messages. They
use a popup window in conjunction with email notices. They also have a
posting on the main forum page letting the logged in user see whether
they have a new message or not. Interestingly they are all phpbb forums.
I know that FSM uses an email notice, but I can't seem to see a way to
be alerted that I have a private message unless I receive that email.
Any chance that FSM can incorporate a similar concept here?
