Cannot respond to PM's
Posted by dkmacin on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 5:33 AM
I am not being rude, I just cannot respond to PM's!
When I click on the FSM link to repond to querys, I get the dreaded "Page requested does not exsist".
So to all who have asked me questions, I am trying to respond.

What OS and browser are you using? I've used PM's a bit and they work fine for me.

So long folks!

Sorry your talking to a computer idiot,
OS?
I'm using Firefox as the browser, and Outlook Express for the email.

OS = Operating System.

Go to  "Control Panel" (should be Start>Control Panel or My Computer>Control Panel) then "System" and then you should read something like...

That will tell you the version and which service pack you have (in my case XP Pro Service Pack 2).

Okay, I have the same as you do.
Dave emailed me to tell me of a PM and I cannot get into it.
Says unable to find the message, may have been eliminated by moderator or some such thing.

But I found the code in the Jan issue and am good to go until March!!

Dave emailed me and I could. I responded but haven't heard back from him yet.

I have sent and received numerous PMs now, so I know it was working...

When you click on a link in your email program, does it open a different browser than what you normally use when visiting the site?  Say if you normally use Firefox, but clicking on a link in an email opens up Internet Explorer.  If you're not logged in the other browser, that would explain the error message you're receiving.

What you can do is click on the Private Messages link on the main forum page to access your private messages.  Smile [:)]

I don't know Dave, my work comp is like that. I normally use Firefox, but the corporate rule is IE. Emailed links open in IE just fine, even if I have Firefox open. Hey, I should have a email from you regarding the last PM. I access my home addy through webmail. Be right back...

...Nope, it opens it in IE just fine. Even though I left Firefox open and this post open in edit mode.

So long folks!
