Are we talking an off-topic category here? If so, I think it would be interesting, but possibly not in keeping with the intent originated by the magazine. Since this forum is produced and hosted by FSM, I'm sort of the opinion that topics need to be centered around modeling. I'm assuming there are other modeling forums around where one can delve into off-topic areas if desired. I've seen other off-topic forums, and there is a lot of diversity: from the delightful, to the demented, to the downright disgusting. How would it be moderated, and who would decide what is in or out topic-wise? With no offense to anyone, I would like to see this forum stay like it is. My 9-year old is just starting the hobby of modeling, and I have no reservations with him visiting any of the forums (or any other categories)on this site, and I would like to see it remain that way. Maybe I'm just paranoid, or can't deal well with reality, but it's refreshing to take part in a forum where the language and postings are civil, as well as centered around the common interest of modeling.

PS One thing I would like to see would be a category possibly called "The Library", where reference information could be obtained; sort of "one-stop-shopping for those interested in the historical aspect of the hobby. This could be a place where reference pictures (or their links), articles (or their links), book extracts (or their links, given copyright problems), abstracts, etc. could be listed, as well as how and where to purchase desired materials. It would probably have to be sub-categorized into the current forum classes; there could even be a sub-category for book reviews.

Just my two-cents' worth. I guess I'm feeling very opinionated today...

i suggest a forum where everything not modeling goes. i say this because another forum i visit, www.lamerkatz.com, is supposed to be for quake 3 and return to castle wolfenstein. however, the general stuff has the most stuff, by far.

and i think the library is great, and i also think there should be a "new releases" where people review new kits, breif 3-5 sentences.

I agree with Styrene. However, the 'new release' thingy could be interesting, but there would need a way to keep the contents indexed if not you're never going to find the stuff you are looking for! Same for the library. (Sorry, I do work for the library services here!)
