Jeff Herne's Article on the 1/285 Tiger is insulting to us guys who fight the bifocal war every time we sit down at the bench!
Not to mention where am I going to get a microscope to use?
Man Jeff you are really getting to be a cruel guy!

I agree, Don, Jeff's 1/285 Tiger project is one that only a fool would attempt.

Can either of you guys suggest a good source for 1/285 scale 88mm rounds? I've turned a few for the storage racks but it's tedious...

I have those on sale daily at e-bay. The cost for a clip's worth is $5 BUY IT NOW but bids have hit $100+ when people get wacky. My spent Luger,  MG34/42, Schmeiser, MP44 and KaR rounds list at $1 each plus shipping. I recently sold a fully functional 1/35 MG34 belt for 5 figures. Of course, I felt compelled to trow in the fully functinal 1/35 MG34 with it.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Geez and I thought I was going to make it huge on eBay selling my lint and dust for brail scale crew uniforms to give them the true "lived-in" look. Do you know how long it took me to knit this stuff!!! Now what do I do with it? Maybe I can photoetch a spinning wheel and turn them into yarn and weave the material to make 1/285 uniforms with working pockets. Ahhh but then I'd have to cast the buttons and the pins to hold them on. Ahhh Nuts to it all!

The Tiger article reminds me of April fools jokes that filter down through generations of soldiers.

"Sergeant, the Master Corporal sent me to get the Blank Firing attachment for my Leopard" or

"Corporal, do you have the brass magnet we have to clean up the firing point of all the spent casings"

Cheers;

Gregory

Some people just have no sense of humor!!! Tongue [:P]

I guess what humors me the most is that most people who know me, know that these are the types of whacky models I'm famous for, so it really wasn't that much of a stretch to begin with.

This is really not that different than my 1/350 airfield diorama...and certainly not outside the realm of possibilities!

I didn't think the tank was 1/285, I just thought the hands and other objects in the photos were 285/1.

It's good to read that Kalmbach has got a sense of humor, though Jeff you should really smile in your photo for the mag, you look too serious.
What will you guys do for next year?

Once I read it was 1/285th, I knew it was the April joke.  I mean, who would go to all that trouble to do that in anything under 1/144th scale?

These were shot at the Atlanta Nationals last year.

That is amazing work! However one question.......

IS HE/SHE TRYING TO BLIND THEMSELVES!!!!

I can not imagine working in that size. I would need serious therapy afterwards.

Thanks for the look though.

To be honest, that was my inspiration...while my Tiger is an April Fool's joke, this 1/144 Tiger is anything but.

The work, the level of detail, and the craftsmanship of this model are absolutely stunning.
