This is my second time being stationed here in Germany in the same area. I was first here with my wife in the early 90's stationed with the CAV. Now I am with the Armor in a light Scout Platoon. My family enjoys it very much. In fact, my 8 yr old son just joined a German Ice Hockey Team. I would recommend coming over to anyone who has the means and opportunity even if just for a visit. As far as modeling is concerned, I do have several good hobby shops on the German economy to shop at but, most of my Verlinden kits come from state side mail order. They don't stock those type brands over here. I am looking forward to hitting some of the European Model Contests this coming spring and summer if I have time between work and the field.
Take Care!

Pat, where in Germany are you stationed at? Which unit - or is that classified. Wink [;)]

edit - Doh! I guess I should have read the Profile first. Blush [:I]

I was in for a little over six years and never once made it overseas. I initially had orders for Germany, but they were changed towards the end of training for NTC. While I don't regret being stationed at NTC, I wish I would have made it to Europe. I've heard a lot of great stories about Germany. I hope you're enjoying your time over there.

Hopefully, things don't get out of hand in Iraq and you get to enjoy the Holidays with your family.

Your new site is wonderful! Being stationed in Germany limits the number of modelers I can talk to and being able to correspond with other modelers back in the US is great.
Thank you very much Big Smile [:D]
