Bamboozled Again!

I may not be the sharpest crayon in the box, but April's spoof of modeling Micro Armor had me for a long time. I was sitting in the throne room this am looking at the article and it FINALLY hit me that this was a spoof along the lines of the Extreme Weathering Contest Spoof that ran last year.

What tipped me off?  Well, look at the picture of the drive wheels. The large drive wheels (which I think are actually 1/16th scale white metal) has shadows pointing one way. The small drive wheels have shadows pointed the other way AND the image of the smaller drive sproket (reduced 1/35 scale?) was "Photoshopped" into the picture. Additionally, the sprokets, weren't laser cut (Really!)

Also, the article shows hand-made treads. Now, I know this has become an art form of late, but careful examination of the vehicles shown on the paint bottleshows solid tracks on the bottom run of treads.

Okay..joke's on my ha ha ha....

Seriously though, this space could be better used highlighting clubs around the US at a time when interest in club participation seems to be waning in some areas.

Thanks for the ear...

I still like the one they did about three years ago.  It was a Workbench Review of a WWI biplane, but it was actually just Lego's put together.

You sure it wasn't one of those early garage resin efforts?

I always enjoyed the "Plastic Eating Virus" from several years ago. I know people who actually panicked over that one.
