Website is so slow

Unfortunately, computer speed has nothing to do with how fast you browse the internet. That is all about your connection speed. Most topics now have graphics, pics, etc. to download as well, so your browser is having to access several websites simultaneously to get the images. I have had absolutely no problems with lag, but then again, I'm running my internet through DSL. Check your connection speed. If you aren't running at least a 56k modem, it's time to upgrade. If Broadband is available in your area, I would highly recommend it.

I have a cable connection that gives me great access speed ... most of the time. But I have noticed at times that FSM seems to be sluggish, but that also seems to be the nature of the net, one day a site may be fine ... but the next day !!!

My computer is way crap, but FSM runs as quickly as any other site I visit. I too have a cable connection.
I did have a problem of not being able to log on at all at first, but that had something to do with my proxy server setting. I turned it "on," and have had no problems since.

I struggle with the speed of this forum too. I have a cable connection and this site is definitely the slowest of all of the forums I visit.

I have a cable modem and have no real problems logging on or with downloads unless it's an especially heavy net use time, and then everything slows down.

I'm using DSL on a network and have occasional trouble but always thought it was due to other traffic on the internet or my lil' lady on the other machine.

I have a cable connection here and just every so often, the forums load a bit slow. Nothing major, maybe a bit o' congestion.

A good place to check your connection speed is at DSL reports.com Go to "TOOLS" then "SPEED TESTS"
