Hi All:
This is really a "letter to the Editor" sort of question. I recently read the January issue and was especially impressed with Carmine Mari's brush painted(!) Corsair. Paul Boyer says "Camine sent us hundreds of photos of his Corsair project, so we've distilled them..."
I understand that you had to distill these photos for the print version, but wouldn't it be possible to scan and post the additional material that Carmine sent and create a photo gallery for the website? The extra photos would only "cost" extra in terms of scanning and posting... shouldn't be too bad. And it's quite possible that linking your website to the print version for additional material would attract more subscribers, and you wouldn't have to "give anything away" that was in the print issue.
Other articles would benefit from the same treatment as well, and it would increase the value of both the website AND the magazine... I hate to use this overused term, but it's kind of a "win-win."
This particular article is interesting to me because it breaks with conventional practice of airbrushing for a fine finish... at least that's what I though before seeing this article. I'd love to see some very close shots of Carmine's paint job. From a distance (like the photos in the magazine) the finish is really amazing.
Thanks very much
Brian Gilbert
