The scratchbuilding issue!

  • Some graphics we can download for MRE boxes of all generations. The pattern, so we can cut them out and fold them like the boxes
  • How to build Ammo Cans
  • How to use sheet styrene the right way
  • how to use putty to make sandbags, tarps
  • how we can measure (give us 1/35 tables) to make armor plating for german armor
  • best way to make bolts and how to use the
  • best glues to use for each materials
  • how to bend PE properly

I would love that issue.

Sounds like a great idea and I'd love to see it.

However, I wouldn't hold my breath. I sent an inquiry to the FSM editor (in accordance with their own published guidelines) 6 months ago about doing an article (or articles) focusing on my scratch-built conversion of a Pz IV into a Bruckenledger IVc...they didn't even bother to answer my e-mail. The article would have hit on several of the topics you mentioned above.

Here's hoping we see something like this (even in bits and pieces) in the future.

Robert, I'm really glad that you submitted your Bruckenledger IVc to FSM. However, it makes me frown when you are saying that nobody there even bothered to even answer your e-mail, a shame really, as your scratchbuilt project was something that I found extremely amazing Thumbs Up [tup]

I would love to see your article in FSM (HINT), it would, IMHO be a real treat for a lot of armor fans, and people that love seeing something out of the ordinary being built. Not only is it a not often seen subject, but the techniques that you used could be something that almost everybody could maybe apply to their own build some day.    My My 2 cents [2c] anyway.

That would make for an interesting special issue topic.  We got painting and weathering this year.  How about scratchbuilding basics for next year or the year after?
